when life gets busier, you just need to find time

so.
again, my weekend was burnt. this time round, for a family day near my area.
3rd event. 2 more to go :)

event venue at night.
it was already midnight when we were finally done with the set up.

I always love wrapping hampers as game prizes!

Mindy & Sharon,
helping me out with the Sand Art Station

these people are anxiously waiting for the VIPs

And after all the preparation, the most critical moment of all.

the folks enjoying their rainbow popsicles.

Daddy got himself a free Ice Ball!

And so did we! :D

And as a form of reward to myself, sheer indulgence!
Nothing beats a good meal and a good night's rest

on a half day off

<Typed this on Monday>

I'm still at home on this beautiful monday morning while many are at work, if only I could sleep in a little longer... was awoken by a call from my client.
this is pretty normal as our company starts work at ten and not many other companies out there enjoy such privilege. HAHAH! opps.
I'm on a half day off as my weekend was burnt with two events.

Last friday, while everyone was soundly asleep, three of us were wide awake!

2am at Grand Copthorne Hotel

fabrication done, next up, construction!

only managed to get home at 11am, closed my eyes and rested for what felt like 30 mins (but was 3 hrs in fact), and rushed down to Marsiling for a block party event.
knowing that the event was in Eunice's good hands, I left the event and headed back to the hotel.

It's Tear Down Time!!!

boy came to help once again :)

events are never about a solo effort.
Thanks to the wonderful team; our in-house creative team whom helped with the designs; my partner Eunice, whom stepped up and ran the show; supportive bosses whom helped in any way they could;
and lastly, a supportive and understanding boyfriend :)

For this weekend, we'll be assisting in a relatively important show in the west.

set up in progress...

May we be blessed with awesome weather and good crowd!

last weekend.

I'm cherishing my last weekend before work gets any busier, 5 events happening really sooooonn!
And all these will end on 8 June; I'm even gonna work on my birthday.

that said,
no regrets for taking up the projects.

In fact, I feel that I'm kinda blessed with such good luck to be entrusted with the responsibilities to run the shows.

Like I tweeted, the battle has just begun

Having watched Avengers twice, at this juncture, I feel that we are also forming Adrenalin's AVENGERS! :)
I'm so glad that I have the support of my colleagues.

This weekend was spent pretty meaningfully.

Saturday

Wanted to do some shopping but wasn't in the mood.

Walked around finding food at Takashimaya and saw a freaking long queue outside this bakery.

Overhead a guy commenting, "These people are buying bread like there's no tomorrow"
haha, it was true indeed!

Boy said that everyone has this piece of bread on their tray so he suggested giving it a try
named cheese paripari - thin, crispy, and savory.

Soon after, we made an impromptu decision to visit Shairul, whom has been in the hospital for a week.

we took a bus down to SGH.
I must say, no doubt the system is there to make things better, it really irritates me having to wait so long just to see a patient.
Alright, talk about patience.

It took us like 20 mins before we received this sms informing us that we could now scan our cards at the gantry, and it must be done within 5 mins upon receiving the sms.

Up I went,
and before I could even get into the ward, I saw the nurses pushing shairul out.
He looked like he was in great pain and could barely speak.
I was then told by his family that he was going for an operation.
Hmm... praying that he will get well really soon.

Health,
so unpredictable isn't it?

After the visit, boy and I headed to Alexandra to find his mom.

Dinner time!
nom nom... :)

Boy's mom is manning a drink stall at the food centre so both of us decided to help her while we were there.

Boy's washing the cups

Fascinated by the interior of the stall

Trying to act like a demure kopi-soh! haha!

I wanted to try out the sugar cane machine but Auntie said it was too dangerous.
I have always loved giving it a try at jobs such as making beverages, making sandwiches at Subway, being a cashier, doing data admin and many many more. I bet it looks fun but sure is a tiring job!

Sunday
aka Mother's Day

Took a cab to IMM, one of my family's favorite hang out places.

wanted to dine at Wan Chai initially but daddy was craving for western food, so off to SWENSENS instead.

toying with the multi-lens app while waiting for our food.

Dad ordered fish and chips

and I ordered the Crayfish Pasta! :D

Brother's MEGA burger

and the special one with her sambal grilled fish

Happy Mother's Day to my beloved mommy!
WE LOVE YOU, always :)

l.o.v.e u n.o.t

you know sometimes when you wanna buy something, and somehow you managed to stop yourself from doing so, it works for a while...
but eventually it won't.

AhHa!

Been trying to look for a good foundation.
So many random meetings nowadays that I just feel so bare if there's nothing on my face to cover up my flaws. :(

As I don't really put on thick make up, my make up items seem to last forever, I hardly buy that often.
So,
when I do need to replenish any of them, needless to say, I want the best of the best!!!!
Best Price!
Best Quality!
Best for everything!

For foundation, have tried before
Dior, ZA, Bourjois. not that many.

Some claimed that ZA is really good and gives good coverage, however, I beg to differ. Perhaps powder foundation isn't the right choice for me.

This time round, was deciding between Revlon OR MAC.
Read so many good reviews about Revlon colorstay liquid foundation so I decided to give it a try when there was 20% off at BHG!
Also, got myself Maybelline black gel eyeliner after my many attempts and forgiveness given to ELF gel eyeliner. First of all, ELF is pretty hard to apply.
Secondly, it smudges and doesn't last long.
My eyelids are pretty oily so the last thing I want is to really have messy eyeshadows and stuff around my eye.

Given both new products a try today and I must say, damn, they are really good!
Incredibly long-lasting and oil-free!?
NO REGRETS!

the privilege of being in this team

today was a busy one!
Team Adrenalin has our first formal photo shoot with some external help.

To start off the session, we had two make-up artists

Envy the amount of brushes they have.
I just went to Sigma website this morning, thinking of getting some of their brushes.
But oh my, they are so unaffordable, haha!
Okay, not really so, I'm just too stingy.

Was told that we need to do some filming, so I volunteered to get 'make-up' first.

At the same time, Eunice was also getting her makeover done.

Tadah! me with my purple eyeshadow,

don't remember if this photo was taken before of after I helped straighten Eunice's hair, think it was before. My face's so BIG!!!

haha! but look who has a bigger face???

Boss was the last one to have his red nose covered, he looks so damn serious...

And here's Jun Yan with his sleepy face!

Filming in progress - our in-house capability

Here's our Core Team, missing Syahidy though,
incomplete.

me and Robert,
like father and daughter ya? (:

Photo shoot starts after lunch.

Muslin cloth set up right at our lift landing, big space for us to fully utilize it.

And that's when all of us start taking our self portrait shots
Myo with his intense look

Valerie with her attractive smile

Eunice feeling a little awkward with how she needs to tilt her head

Jovin, one fast one to clear

me and my ugly fringe

Boss with his charismatic facial expression

Our formal shot!!!
From left,
Rosalind, Robert, Syahidy, Vivien, Shirley (Me), Myo, Eunice, Valerie, Jovin, Jun Yan, Shairul, Shafiqa
Michael, Richardo, Gary, James

"PROUD TO BE TEAM ADRENALIN"
was being printed on our new t-shirt,

And here's me, trying to look younger with my side ponytail!

once again, don't we look like a family?? haha!

This week has been a great one for us, and for me especially.
three wins in two days, never did that happened before!
I was so overjoyed that I just kept jumping around and hugging people, OPPS!

May this team gets stronger and stronger, and together,
we can surely bring the company to greater heights
"three cheers and three cheers and three cheers to ADRENALIN!"
LOL.

Korean BBQ meat. sizzling hot!

Happy Belated Labour Day!!!
"a day when people go into labour", a joke that my boss kept saying for the past few days, haha!

Thanks to this holiday, my clique got to meet up again for our long-awaited Korean BBQ dinner at RWS! Mindy purchased the deal vouchers some time back and luckily, the restaurant accepts reservation on this PH. Taking into consideration the location of the restaurant, we had rather high expectation on the quality of its food.

Mahjong game in the afternoon ended late all thanks to Mindy, the biggest winner, I lost $7.50 or so...
Booking a cab for five would have costed us $40, thus we decided to try our luck and wait for 963R.

reached the restaurant at six thirty.
we were all famished because none of us had proper lunch before that.

Don't know if it was because we made a reservation or what, we were given a private room
Woohoo!

Anthony's

Sharon's

Boy's

mine's

mindy's

all of ours!

cutleries nicely placed inside a napkin

this is only his first round,
big pile of food for the hungry and growing boy!

forcing boy to stop eating for a while and took a shot of him

taken when both of us were no longer that hungry anymore...

poor sharon was sweating so she placed a piece of tissue paper on her forehead!

At first, we thought we need to cook the meat on our own, like those korean restaurant we see in Korean Drama, but no, there was a buffet spread! :)

appetizers that none of us eat.

pizza and some cooked food, very ASIAN!

Pay $5 more to enjoy seafood and sashimi.
But the salmon wasn't nice! :(

Again, more Asian food.
More like chinese cuisine!!!

most of us were full after an hour plus of non-stop eating, and by the time we were almost done, the timing was just right for the crane show.

We have been talking about it for quite some time but always, somehow, missed the opportunity to catch it,

finally!

look at how packed it was!

two robotic cranes flirting with each other, and finally, they got together I suppose?

lots of water features but no pyrotechnic display

And when the show was about to end, RWS logo was shown on the screen...
hello,
like so out of the picture!!! haha!

Ending this post with a group photo!

We are missing Ivan cause he's currently serving NS in Taiwan, so fun that I wanna go too! (:
