c.u.p.c.a.k.e.s w.i.t.h l.o.v.e

Fancy some c.u.p.c.a.k.e.s on your nails???

I know Valerie does, haha!
gonna paint for my colleague next week. Tried this on my own fingers in hope that I won't disappoint her next week.

Not too bad for a first try ya?

Here are the polishes you will need for cupcakes of different 'flavors'
from the left: top coat, base coat, white, mint, baby blue, matt yellow, pretty pink, pastel purple,
and last but not least, metallic red

OH!!! and most importantly, you will also need

Dotting Tools!

It really does help make fuller round dots as compared to my previous method of using toothpick, nah, not good!
I got my set of dotting tools at only $5 at *Scape Flea Market, they are a regular vendor there.
Gmarket sells it for $7.50 or so??

Anyways...

If  you need a step-by-step procedure,
check out this long youtube video:

Ladies' Nite in... OFFICE!

Yes that's right!
First ever Adrenalin's ladies' night, right in our newly revamped office, with the new girls (Eunice & Jovin). That reminds me just how I haven't painted nails for Preemal & Janice!
I shall invite more people for the next PARTY!

Anyway, it all started off with my sudden 'craving' for nail painting. And having only 10 fingers, I can't possibly keep changing the designs every single day! Not to mention that I super hate removing the paint.

So, I told the girls that I wanna paint their nails and they all said YES! :D

In just one night, I painted 4 pairs of hands; Rosalind, Eunice, Jovin, and Josephine.

Jovin wanted shattered nails, so there she goes, Black with Gold Shatter!

Josephine wanted red nails cause we were supposed to come dressed with a touch of red for our Open House. In the end, she felt that red with white polka dots look just like strawberry, so she got Jun Yan's girlfriend to make it look more like strawberries with the leaves.

Look at how hardcore Jun Yan's girlfriend is!
Palette, brushes, acrylic paint...

And TADAH!!!
Josephine's strawberry nails!

The two other girls did purple gradient, which is one of my best designs, a pity I didn't have the time to take any photos of them. well, there's always a next time!

and till then, I shall practise more and get ready for the next PARTIEEE! :D

it's so fun eating at GENKI!

If you haven't heard, it's been a year since Genki opened its door in Singapore once again!

What's with this angry-looking face?

A quick google search throws up comments made by customers saying that it stands for its bad service!

Anyways.

Boy tempted me with this bullet train in the restaurant.

Check it out!

Use an iPad to order your food, how cool is that?

If you need a quick view of the full menu, they have it on the conveyor belt.

And once you place your order,

Ta Dah! your food is served by this cute little bullet train!

All you need to do is to remove the plates from the train, and at one click, the train will then move off to the kitchen again. Isn't that FUN?

We ordered Green Tea and were served empty cups to make our own tea.
Abundant green tea powder so unlimited refills!

Here's what they have to offer!

Spicy salmon sushi

Salmon roll

this is my favorite, salmon sushi served in 3 different ways!

Steamed custard egg with Crab Meat $3.80

Swordfish belly, served fresh and juicy

One of the best things is that you can check your bill at any point of time using the ipad,
NOW, you can order with ease and keep track of your spending.

I told boy that I'm definitely going back to dine soon,
shall order other food and get served by the racing car.

the GROWTH we need to witness, TOGETHER.

This beautiful picture, paints a thousand words.
a journey we have come together thus far,
an achievement we have built up,
the next step to our dream.

money's gone with lesson learnt the hard way

My rants and here it goes...

my GOOD friend rented a car for the weekend for some silly reasons, so he offered to take us out for a ride. And not knowing the rules, he decided to head to Johor with five of us in the car.

So...

If you do know, our kind officer at the checkpoint don't allow so many people in the car.
Two of my friends had to alight and walk in.

The rented car has a tracking system and the company could just turn off and on the engine upon knowing that the car is getting out of Singapore.

what comes next...

The engine of the car was being turned off just when we were nearing the checkpoint and there was no way we could start the engine.
Tried pushing the car but because the wheels were locked, the car refused to budge.
The violation of the contract costed my dear friend $630 for the company to turn on the engine for us once again. An hefty sum indeed, for what could have be avoided in the first place!

Tell me how not to be mad when he was already being told what's not to be done under the contract.

:(:(:(:(:(

Anyways... what's done cannot be undone, so no point getting mad at him for long.
I'm a nice girl :P

We decided to just be good and stay in Singapore, do some activities that don't require much cash.
WINDOW shopping at IKEA Tampines,
Supper-ed at Swee Choon Dim Sum,
and Mahjong at my place!

If you have missed Allspark

RWS Transformers Cybertron Con 2012

I was so looking forward to last Sunday's outing:
Transformers Exhibition + John Carter

I have been to RWS compass ballroom for many many times but it has always been for work purposes, Finally, this time round, I actually had to pay 12 bucks to get in!

totally clueless as to what to expect from the exhibition, except knowing that there's a 22-foot Optimus Prime.

allsparks in 3D

Mindy & Sharon with Gigantic Optimus Prime

Pay $20 and you get to climb this stairs to take a shot with the autobots!

We joined the super long queue for a mini 3D theatre...

And tadah! Here's the 3D theatre, with a LG TV and 3D glasses,
BUT
there was no 3D effects at all, with or without the glasses. HAH!

The only group photo of the day (:

"We Keep Your World Moving" What? Bus, Train or Human?

This,
caught my eyes last night!

I was on my way for dinner with my colleagues and we happened to alight at the bus stop right outside Braddell station. I actually paused and spent a few minutes reading this 'advertisement' which was placed at the bus stop. My colleague, did exactly the same thing
I thought it was pretty COOL and CREATIVE.

then

I remembered that few days ago, I received an email from Nuffnang on how we could help spread the words for this campaign, I thought, "hey, why not blog about this?"

and

I had a painful experience this afternoon!

Usually, when I take 4 buses to work on weekdays and kill my time on twitter, I see at least 3 tweets commenting on how trains stop at every single station, how they will be late due to the delays and blah blah blah. I'm NOT exaggerating. (NOD NOD).

Sadly

I had a taste of it today!

Yes, it was sardine-packed!
But when my family and I were trying to get in, there were obviously a lot of spaces in the middle of the carriage,
by the side,
on the other end,
and in the connector area.

So then, why do people crowd around the 2 doors, the only ESCAPE ROUTE???

It irritates me so much when I witness inconsiderate people that I simply say "Excuse Me" and move in (no matter what) to where there's enough air for me to breathe in. And I do this even if I'm alighting at the next stop.

of course, I understand how some people worried that they might not be able to get out of the train.
same thing, boarding commuters are afraid that they might miss the train if they don't get in soon enough.
All these what ifs, are the reasons why commuting is such a pain in OUR ASS nowadays!

Come on, the increase in population is making our fine city a more congested place to live in, why do we still wanna make things worse for our own people?

All you need is a space to stand comfortably and something to hold on to, for your own safety.

Also

I always feel that the reserved seats should really be reserved for anyone whom needs it more than anyone else.

I was really mad when a young and fit guy (well...he does look fit) sat next to the reserved seat and showed no sign of wanting to give up his seat to my parents.
No doubt they are not senior citizens yet, or rather, people whom look fragile or have only few strands of white hair on their head, what's stopping us to give up the seats to people of our parents' generation?

They have been through so much more than us. If you take a closer look at them, you will realize just how much they have aged over the years without our care.

Perhaps

It all boils down to our selfishness. Hrmp!

If
x we spare a tiny weeny little thought for others,
x we see things from another perspective,
x we come together as one and support one another
x move in to the middle of the train
x give up our seats
x stop pretending to be asleep or try listening to music or act dumb

the train will be a better place for everyone!

As I took the train back from Pasir Ris with my family again, there was a husband and wife. The wife was carrying her little princess.
My brother, without hesitation, stood up and asked her to take a seat.
I stood up too, so that her princess could sit down beside her.
They didn't look like locals.
But...... the lady declined and asked me to sit down instead.
This went to and fro, to and fro, to and fro, for a couple of time before I gave up and sat down again.

What a pleasant experience it was! :)

who says there's no free lunch in the world?

I have been receiving this call from some unknown number weeks ago and they claimed that I am invited for some free facial / slimming trial.

Thinking that there's no free lunch in the world, I reluctantly agreed after their multiple attempts in fixing an appointment with me.

Upon confirmation, I received an sms with the details and address.

"This is our gentle reminder for your Complimentary Nobel Award Facial Treatment...
FOC Hair straightener worth $59.90 after trial...
No hard selling..." Oh REALLY?

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE???

Anyways.

Greedy me went ahead on Tuesday.

Located at 39 Carpenter Street

There it is, BIOFOCUS! (Awarded Excellent Services) EH HEM!

Was told to fill in my particulars (ya, to facilitate future harrassments, haha!)

And I was ushered up to the treatment room at Level 2. Pretty cozy and pleasant ambience, just that there was this water feature that was kinda noisy.

Nothing much to shoot so took a shot of its machine.

Before she began the treatment, she was telling my how I could further improve my skin conditions by this and that treatment. All of which costs around $90++ each!
When I kindly declined, she responded by saying the complimentary facial has only whitening effects, it's a normal treatment. HELLO, where does your self-acclaimed "Complimentary Nobel Award Facial Treatment" go?

Never minds.. but she was so pushy!!!
I was prepared to pay but only if it were below $50? My usual facials only cost me around $30 nett, and best of all, they never hard sell to me at all!

SO. from a 90 mins treatment, it was shortened to only 30 mins.

After which, she brought me down and got me to do a quick 5 qns survey. I was still worried that she might force me to sign some packages.
And TaDAH!

The free hair straightener they promised!

Apparently, maybe this product is really cheap or something. My colleague whom went for a free slimming treatment received the exact same thing too!
I have yet to try it, thinking of giving it to my colleague cause I have a jose eber hair straightener which works perfectly fine, shall see how.

Here's another FREE LUNCH:

"Dear Shirley Wee,

Congratulations! You've won yourself the following prize(s):

A khiel's travel size gift set worth $33"

No idea how I won this, but anyways... Thanks CLEO

INVEST IN ME , 830PM on CNA

Catch my company, ADRENALIN, on Channel NewsAsia tomorrow, 8.30pm!!!

If you have missed the first two episodes of us, here's the link:

The first episode talks about some of the major problems our company faced, such as
- not enough storage space
- no proper inventory system
- no creative working environment
- no well-trained staff

The second episode puts our Client Experience team to a real test, where 3 teams had to compete against one another in a sale pitching contest.
WHAT???!!!

During the week that we were being thrown with this huge challenge, our bosses were away for a business trip in Macau!

Part of the filming took place at Ritz Carlton, beautifully elegant.

Myo's turn to answer those tricky questions for the reality show

On that fateful day... hahaha

We were all sitting out the meeting room, waiting to be called into the room.

My group (comprises of myself, Shairul, and Preemal) were told to go first!
We proposed a 'Rising Stars Theme' with a touch of socialite feel to the whole event.
No doubt it was not extremely creative, we tried to make it up with high technologies and unique VIP-ish treatments.
you can catch more of that in the second episode...

More filming after the presentation...

this is somewhere in the Mediacorp building.

OH OH>> We saw ZHANG YAO DONG when we were there!!! :D:D:D
the girls were all jokingly saying that he was smiling to us...

Here's an UGLY me doing the interview with host Wei Du

Josephine's turn to share her views with them

Guess the best part of the show is the real improvements made to our company.
The office revamp, the new team structure, the understanding of where we really stand, benchmarking to industry standards etc...
There's really so much more we can learn and improve.

I shall blog more about our office revamp once renovation is done in a couple more days.
It's gonna be an even better place to work in.

Go watch INVEST IN ME tomorrow, 8.30pm, on CNA! :D

Possibly the best Yakitori bar in Singapore?

YES YES!!!
Finally had a much much better meal yesterday after days of porridge and soluble meals.
Though my teeth still hurt, I couldn't care less for the pain any longer.

I HAVE TO EAT... AND BETTER FOOD I MEAN!

Was searching for good Japanese Buffet instead of the usuals like Kuishin Bo. I don't really like going to the same restaurant over and over again, especially when it comes to Buffet.

Another one that I have tried was Senki at Killiney.

Isaac's mum likes to eat sashimi so we headed to Kushi Yakitori Dining Bar for his mum's birthday celebration.

Located right outside Hotel Windsor, off MacPherson Road

We were so famished that no time was wasted on taking photos of the food.
Just a couple to whip up your appetite...

Fresh salmon sushi with mayonaise

finished off dinner with this big pot of Shabu-shabu

Special STAR of the night, Isaac's Mum
holding a small little gift from all of us.

Here's Josephine & Shawn!

With kimberly!

These guys here just don't know how to pose properly for the camera! haha

Sunflower from Kimberly.
HAPPY family! :D

I think flowers make good gifts for mums!

And I've found a way to rescue myself from my ugly fringe. happy happy!

Anyways.

I have already decided a place for my birthday this year!

I'm SO going to Todai!!!
